James Dondero and High Yield Credit

James Dondero has more than 30 years of experience in the high yield credit market industry. Jim is the co-founder and president of Highland Capital Management, which has been involved with the high yield credit industry since 1993. Jim Dondero has managed dedicated long-only high yield credit commingled funds and separate accounts since 2000. Mr. James Dondero focuses on a total return approach that provides exposure to the broader below-investment grade corporate credit markets and targets returns that are intended to exceed benchmarks. This strategy is available via commingled funds, separate accounts and retail funds. Additionally, with separate accounts, Jim Dondero’s Highland Capital Management can create customized mandates with investments across all asset classes. James Dondero utilizes a bottom-up fundamental assessment in combination with a top-down technical analysis that provides a deep comprehension of underlying collateral, industry uniqueness, macro perspectives and portfolio positioning. Highland Capital Management is one of the largest bank loan managers in the world with approximately $13 billion in bank loan assets under management.
